  12. Can someone help me with my new unbranded modem?  I bought the
  13. modem here in the UK from a reputable supplier.  The handbook
  14. leaves a little to be desired -- the illustration of the card
  15. is different to what is physically plugged into the PC.  I am
  16. providing as much information as possible in the hope that
  17. someone may recognise this modem and explain how it should
  18. be configured.

  20. Using the AT interrogate command I obtain the following:

  49. On the back of the modem are two RJ-11's and two 3.5mm jack sockets.
  50. A patch lead was supplied to connect from one RJ-11 to a BT socket.
  51. The other RJ-11 is for a telephone handset to plug into.  The two
  52. jack sockets are marked ear and mic.

  54. The software provided with the modem is Cheyenne's Bitware for
  55. Windows 3.1 version 3.30.06 V/F/D.

  59.     1) Which chip set is inside?
  60.     2) How should the modem be configured?
  61.     3) What are the interface details of the two 3.5mm jacks?
  62.     4) Is the modem also a sound card?
  63.     5) Where, in the UK, can male RJ-11 to female "BT" adapters
  64.        be obtained?
  65.     6) How much would a modem of a similar specification retail
  66.        for in the US?
